The Writing Well™ The Writing Well is a collection of black-line master sets of writing prompts with grade-level assessment. The black-line masters are distributed on CD-ROM in Adobe PDF format, so you can print as many copies of the worksheets as you need. (You’ll need Adobe Reader to open them.)
The Writing Well is licensed on a site-wide basis. This means that everyone in your building may use the contents of the Writing Well CD-ROM.
The Writing Well supports both Macintosh and Windows computers you can mount the CD-ROM on either type of system; open and print its contents from either Macintosh or Windows (using Adobe Reader).

Each sheet gives a prompt with a set of "helper" or vocabulary words that will help students start writing. The Teachers' Guide includes ideas for using individual work sheets in class.
What makes The Writing Well unique is that we include an evaluation sheet that you and your students can use to evaluate each writing assignment. Each evaluation sheet includes a set of evaluation descriptors so that both teacher and student can evaluate the piece and both can reflect on it.
The Writing Well is designed for teachers who want to make assessment part of every assignment, but are not sure how, or cannot afford the time to design assessments for every assignment. The Writing Well weaves assessment and instruction together.
