When you purchase the Grady Profile, the CD-ROM includes four integrated application programs. The reason for this is that there are a number of different constituencies involved in the use of Grady Profile at a school. Different groups have different requirements, and we've tailored applications for each of them.
This page introduces the four programs and discusses the intended audiences for each one. Additional pages preview each of the programs in a bit more detail.
The GP3 – Personal Profile program is primarily intended for students. A portfolio owner uses Personal Profile to open it, add new information, change content, add artifacts, self-evaluate, etc. In addition, Personal Profile can be used by parents, guests and others who are only interested in a single student’s portfolio.
The GP3 – Profile Manager program is primarily intended for teachers. It provides a ‘class-at-a-time’ roster-like view. The teacher sees a list of students; choosing a name opens that student's portfolio.
Profile Manager also provides a variety of additional features that allow a teacher to effectively manage the class’s portfolios. For this reason, Profile Manager is also part of the toolset used to administer Grady Profile in a building.
The GP3 – Master Tailor program is primarily intended for teachers, curriculum coordinators and other administrative personnel who are responsible for designing the assessment methods and strategies for the district, building, and/or classroom and who are interested in the design of portfolios.
The GP3 – Administrator program is primarily intended for network administrators, technology coordinators and IT managers and staff who need tools to manage a building or district-wide Grady Profile installation. It includes tools for monitoring network usage and cleaning up some network access problems; file integrity verification and repair tools, etc.
